Beacon Automator

Privacy Policy

Operated by Beacon Software · Effective July 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Beacon Automator (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Beacon Software (“Beacon”), collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you connect a Meta (Facebook) account and use the App to manage advertising on behalf of Beacon’s portfolio companies.

The App is an internal tool built by Beacon to automatically create, manage, and optimize advertising campaigns across Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram) for companies in the Beacon portfolio. By connecting your Meta account and using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1

Who we are

Beacon Software is a Toronto, Ontario, Canada–based company. The App is developed and operated by Beacon for the benefit of its portfolio companies. For any privacy question, contact us using the details in the “Contact us” section below.

2

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to manage advertising on your behalf. This falls into three groups:

a. Information from Meta (via the Meta Marketing API and Meta Login). When you authorize the App, Meta grants us access to specific data tied to the permissions you approve. This may include:

  • Your Meta account identity and basic profile (name, user ID, and email associated with the login).
  • Business Manager, ad account, and Page details you grant the App access to.
  • Advertising data: campaigns, ad sets, ads, creatives, budgets, targeting settings, and audiences.
  • Performance and insights data: impressions, clicks, spend, conversions, and similar campaign metrics.
  • Access tokens issued by Meta that let the App act on the connected account.

b. Information you provide directly. Settings, preferences, campaign instructions, and any configuration you enter into the App.

c. Technical and usage information. Standard logs such as actions taken in the App, timestamps, device and browser information, and error or diagnostic data used to keep the App running and secure.

We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we do not seek access to Meta permissions beyond those required for advertising management.

3

How we use information

We use the information above only to operate and improve the App. Specifically, to:

  • Create, manage, schedule, and optimize advertising campaigns on the Meta accounts you connect.
  • Report on campaign performance to you and to the relevant Beacon portfolio company.
  • Authenticate users and maintain a secure connection to Meta.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the App’s functionality and reliability.
  • Comply with Meta’s Platform Terms, applicable laws, and our own record-keeping obligations.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use Meta data for any purpose other than providing and improving the advertising services described here.

4

How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the App:

  • With Meta. We send instructions and content to Meta’s APIs to manage your campaigns, and we receive data back. Your use of Meta is also governed by Meta’s own privacy policy.
  • With the relevant Beacon portfolio company. Advertising data and reporting tied to a portfolio company’s account are made available to that company and to authorized Beacon personnel.
  • With service providers. We use trusted hosting, cloud, and infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • For legal reasons. If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Beacon, our users, or the public.

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising unrelated to the accounts you connect.

5

Data storage, security, and retention

We store data on secured infrastructure and apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Access tokens and credentials are stored securely and used only to perform the actions you authorize.

We retain information for as long as your account remains connected and as needed to provide the service, meet legal and audit requirements, and resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

6

Your choices and rights

You control the App’s access to your Meta account:

  • Revoke access at any time through your Meta account settings (Business Settings → connected apps) or Facebook settings (Settings → Apps and Websites). Revoking access stops the App from acting on your account.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by the App by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). We honour valid requests under applicable law.

7

Data deletion

To request deletion of the data associated with your use of the App, email us at legal@beaconsoftware.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” We will delete the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

8

Children’s privacy

The App is a business tool intended for use by adults acting on behalf of a business. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority.

9

International transfers

Beacon operates from Canada and may use service providers located in other countries. Where information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy and applicable law.

10

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
